About
(Our founder, far right, fashion school c.a. 2001)
Faded Workshop was created when our founder Susie Yang saw how disposable and temporary fashion had become and wanted to bring back her love of art and culture. Growing up in Los Angeles in the 90s, the city was steeped in street style, music, car culture, and all just a hop & skip away from mountains and beaches. Faded Workshop is inspired by this eclectic mix that L.A. embodies.
After 20 years in the fashion industry and seeing the effects of fast fashion on the environment, Susie wanted to design a brand that can be worn not for a season but fit seamlessly in your closet for years if not decades. Timeless pieces with a twist.
Textile waste makes up 92 million tons and much of it is shipped overseas. Faded Workshop utilizes 2nd-hand clothing and deadstock fabrics, that otherwise end up in landfills, to create small-run upcycled pieces.
Our mission is collaboration. We welcome custom requests!
