Psychedelic art book at Central Library
Share
One of my favorite resources is the public library...it's the O.G. Google and it's free!
LAPL (Los Angeles Public Library) which services the city of L.A. and all unincorporated L.A. has an app where you can search their entire catalog of books, and you can upload your files and print up to $6.50 worth of color and b&w printouts for free dollars once a day. Some locations even have a lab that have 3D printers, laser cutter, embroidery machine, sewing machine, etc.
My favorite branch is the downtown central library, which is in a beautiful multi-level building with entire floors dedicated to arts, literature, science, etc. The arts floor is where I spent so many weekends in my high school years (back when there was no Google) getting inspired by graphic arts and niche books in printmaking. To get there, I prefer taking the Metro E line (gold line) to avoid the expensive parking and exit 7th Street metro stop. From there, it's a short 6 min walk to the Hope Street entrance.
I found this awesome book "Dreams Unreal" by Titus O'Brien about psychedelic posters while researching original art styles for graphic tees. Take a look at the gems of artworks in this book below.
